What’s it gonna take?
I’m an eternal student of the world, a fresh air addict, and a passionate thalassophile. My favourite fruit is watermelon, I’m a professional clutz, and I hope to one day live somewhere between 49˚N and 125˚W.
Oh, and I’m angry.
Heed Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax’s warning: Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.
Each person has an individual responsibility to choose sustainability when they can, and if they can. However, at the current rate the climate is changing, it’s gonna take a team effort to make a difference.
It is up to us to make a difference, not them.
This blog is meant to motivate, educate and gently persuade readers to consider their actions as a consumer, and how they harm or benefit the planet.
I am fascinated by the discrepancy between what we know we can do to slow down climate change, and how we actually act on a daily basis.
Every time I read a headline about the negative effects of climate change, or when I see someone has individually wrapped another single banana in plastic, I am full of rage and sorrow for the planet we call home.
Instead of being angry all the time, I will channel my thoughts and the latest research to create approachable ways* for changes to be made in the lives of regular people, like myself.
*change isn’t supposed to be easy or comfortable, that’s why it’s called change
